Oh. Hello.
Jim 01:06
Listen to this episode to find out more about us.
Sam 01:10
Time for the show.
Sam 02:02
Welcome to The Secret Society. I'm Secrecy Sam.
Jim 02:06
And I'm Jim.
Sam 02:08
Today we explain a little bit about what we do.
Jim 02:13
Let's start it off with a message from our friend Lisa.
Lisa 02:17
Hello, recruit podcast listeners. I am so excited that you have joined our organization. You see, by listening to this podcast (or reading this transcript), you have just officially joined the secret society. That means you are in our system and may be called upon as an agent at any time. However, we will not give out our important secrets to you- yet. That is why we are using AI voice changers. Now, back to the boys.
Jim 02:49
All right, Lisa. have fun with the annoying new recruits - I mean allies - at the headquarters.
Sam 03:00
Now, what's this podcast all about? And, if you live under a rock, what's the secret society?
Jim 03:08
I'll start with you, rock dwellers. The secret society is what it sounds like - a society in the shadows.
Sam 03:17
Well, not exactly. the secret society is an organization for criminals, spies, and the like. Ex-KGB agents and CIA infiltrators come here. Some whole spy rings have joined. For example, our most newly recruited group, the bad spy ring.
Jim 03:36
They act like they are as powerful as we are and insist on being called allies instead of recruits. Man, I'm glad I don't have to deal with them like Lisa does.
Sam 03:48
We have some of the most advanced technology in the world and operate in 184 countries.
Jim 03:55
That's us. Now, why did we start this podcast? The primary reason is recruiting.
Sam 04:02
See, you are listening to this right now, and many more listeners will follow. If we put more episodes out, it will lure more listeners. We can also use tactics such as SEO. Also, if you become more highly trained, you may find messages encoded in the episode, often relating to missions to complete, as well as training messages.
Jim 04:26
But the real reason is that too many of our previous members pressured us to.
Sam 04:31
Don't tell them that Jim! You're just messing this up!
Jim 04:34
What? It's true and you can't change that!
Sam 04:37
But I can edit it out.
Jim 04:39
Levi is the editor and producer. It's up to him.
Sam 04:45
Anyway, we have plenty of good reasons for the podcast.
Jim 04:52
Next question: why do we want you? You'd think "They should be fine. They've got everything they want, right? #absolutely amazing?"
Sam 05:04
That's not exactly the case. you see, we have an enemy. a powerful enemy. It's mostly confidential information, but they have been attacking us and stealing our most important inventions. We must stop them, have revenge, and keep it hidden from the police, and we need operators and agents to do those jobs. We also have other plans.
Jim 05:31
Yeah, plans like world domination and space travel.
Sam 05:36
That's confidential, Jim! Top Secret!
Jim 05:40
Sorry. Never mind what I just said. Alright. let's do a new segment - chat with the team. In this segment, we call a high-ranking individual in the secret society and quiz them about their job.
Sam 06:01
Sounds more like torturing them about their job- but okay. Who should we pick?
Jim 06:08
I think we should go with Lisa. Especially since it means she can stop doing her job for a while.
Sam 06:15
Alright. let's call her up. What is her communication number?
Jim 06:21
85121215 175142019 120201311 715154 191625 189147.
Sam 06:40
That is quite long. Maybe we should shorten them.
(Telephone Ringing)
Lisa 06:53
Hello. Oh, it's you. what do you want?
Jim 06:58
Could you tell us about your job for our new segment?
Lisa 07:03
Oh, all right. I am the head of communications and negotiations, which means that I am the leader of the group that works out alliances and treaties with other organizations, and my group also handles all communications within the secret society. If you receive a message telling you to carry out a mission, it will be from the group I lead.
Sam 07:28
Where do you work from?
Lisa 07:33
I work primarily from the HQ, however many of my employees work virtually.
Jim 07:41
What is your latest project?
Lisa 07:45
My largest project recently has been communicating with the bad spy ring, who are quite stubborn as well as unresponsive. They have been attempting to hide it from us, but they were recently arrested. It means that they will only accept any deals if we promise to get them out of prison, but they will not go on any especially dangerous missions or spend very much time helping us. Another thing I have been doing is tracking one of our assassins who has gone rogue.
Jim 08:16
Wait- I didn't know that. What has he been doing?
Lisa 08:22
I honestly do not know. He has been able to mask his location most of the time, and his communications account is working incorrectly, so I am less able to follow him. Mostly, though, it's not my job. Location tracking is done by other departments.
Sam 08:42
How many employees do you have in your department?
Lisa 08:47
Running all the communications is a big job, so maybe about 150. They are separated into groups of 10 to 15, each with a leader that reports to me, and I run one group in addition. I also have a group of 20 run by John that handle most incoming messages.
Jim 09:07
Thank you for that interview, Lisa.
Lisa 09:11
Anytime.
Sam 09:13
So that was "Chat with the team". Not a bad idea.
Jim 09:19
I'm glad you liked it.
Sam 09:25
That is all for today. Thank you for becoming a member of the secret society.
Jim 09:33
To create more agents, follow our show wherever you get your podcasts, such as Spotify or Apple Podcasts, and leave a rating or review as well. All music was by Bio Unit.
Sam 09:47
Levi is our editor and producer, and we're hosts Secrecy Sam and Jim for the secret society.
Jim 09:55
We'll see you next time.
Sam 09:58
That is what I just said, idiot!
